Welcome to my class. My name is Amanda Stone and I have been teaching for 9 years in the state of Georgia. This includes Calhoun, GA, Effingham High School and now Johnson High. Before I taught I worked as a groundwater field hydrologist and before that I was an assistant surficial planetologist and proudly worked on the Mars mission programs for NASA in Pasadena, California.
I grew up in South East Los Angeles, California. My family moved to Georgia after I graduated high school and attended Hartwick College in upstate New York. After receiving my bachelors degree I attended Duke University. Family brought me to Georgia where I have been living since 2007.
I've recently been married to my husband in 2014 and live here in Savannah and raise our cat Gus and dog Fay. I look forward to meeting my students and parents this year and look forward to a great learning experience together.
